2006 FAYETTE COUNTY FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY

$1,000.00 TO WIN STOCK DIVISION

$500.00 TO WIN SMALL CAR DIVISION

GENERAL RULES:

IF RULES DON’T INDICATE THAT YOU CAN DO IT - DON’T DO IT!

1.      All drivers must be 16 years old and have a valid drivers license

2.      No one under 14 years old allowed in pits - under 18 must have written parental permission

3.      NO ALCOHOL IN PITS

4.      Official decision will be final

5.      All drivers and crews must attend pit meeting

6.      All chrome, plastic, and glass must be removed

7.      All cars must be swept clean of glass and debris

8.      Fire extinguisher required within reach of driver

9.      Driver must wear helmet with face shield, seat belt, long sleeve shirt and long pants

10.  No foul language or suggestive pictures

11.  Gas tank must be removed and installed behind front seat & covered

12.  Batteries must be anchored to floor and covered

13.  Holes must be cut in hood above air cleaner

14.  Nothing but air in the tires

15.  Suspension must remain stock

16.  12 inch number on placard on top of car

17.  Radiators must remain in front of engine - no auxiliary water tanks

18.  Two fires and you are disqualified

19.  No welding on frames or bodies - No welders in pits - a welder will be on site for use

20.  All shut off and kill switches must be painted orange

 

STOCK CAR RULES

1.      No imperials or four-wheel drives

2.      Up to # 9 wire - not chain – wire cannot be shoe laced to frame

3.      Pipe may be welded behind seat, cowl and inside of driver’s door

4.      Bumper shocks may be welded

5.      Hood and trunk cannot be bolted down and must open for inspection

 

SMALL CAR RULES
 

1.      Same rules from above with a maximum 108 inch wheel base

2.      Front wheel drive only - 4 and 6 cylinder - No AMC Pacers

The Fayette County Fair demolition derby rules and regulations are designed to assist in the orderly conduct of the event and to establish universally acceptable, minimum requirements for regulation of automobile demolition derby events. No expressed or implied warranty of safety, shall result from any Fayette County Fair publication nor shall result from compliance with these regulations and shall not be a guarantee against exposure to harm, injury, or death to any pit participant or spectator. 

The event directors shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in their opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials - their decision is final.
